How Can high Cholesterol be Controlled?

I was just diagnosed with high cholesterol at 226. I am concerned because I don t eat alot of red meat and watch what I eat and exercise, I can t understand it. The doctor wanted to put me on medication and I chose not to and try to watch my diet. Do you have any suggestions?

Your cholesterol level is slightly high so In my opinion you should try low fat diet and exercise. Repeat your cholesterol level after 3 month. if it remains persistently high after diet control then you should take statins according to advice.
